HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR YOGA MAT ?

Your yoga mat is the most important part of your equipment and proper maintenance can help prolong its life. Although each mat is different depending on its composition, follow a few simple rules, such as keeping your mat rolled instead of folded, and washing it regularly. A mat, even a slightly damaged one, will remind you of your path and your progress in yoga.

Here are a few tips to keep it with you for a long time as you greet the sun!

YOGA CARPET Polyurethane and Synthetic Rubber
Studio Carpet
If you want your polyurethane yoga mat to stay as sticky as the first day, it's important to take care of it!

Regularly clean your mat with warm soapy water and a soft brush. Wash once a month if you practice often or according to your activity and if the dirt is already embedded, soak for a few minutes. Dust, creams and sweat eventually deteriorate the adhesion of polyurethane mats.

The coloured side of this mat is designed to absorb perspiration, so don't worry if there are marks on your hands or feet during the session: between two large washings, you can also refresh it with a spray of essential oils. Attention, this yoga mat is not machine washable!

Let it dry well before rolling it up and storing it.

Favour a storage in "rolled" mode to avoid deformations which would be unpleasant in postures. Also prefer a dry place without sunlight to keep the grip of the rubber.

YOGA CARPET Rubber and natural jute
Jute Carpet
Jute and natural rubber yoga mats can be washed with warm soapy water. In between large washings, you can also refresh it with a spray of essential oils. Avoid dust and creams to keep the natural rubber mats adherent.

Leave to dry well after washing in the open air (not in a tumble dryer to avoid damaging the rubber), and avoid putting the carpet in the sun, which dries it out and cracks it very quickly.

YOGA RUG Natural Rubber 1.5mm
Travel Mats
The big advantage of this travel mat is that you can machine wash it!

Regularly machine wash your mat at 30° to keep the properties of the rubber intact and protect the environment. Use detergent but no fabric softener to avoid damaging its adhesion.

Even if it is a foldable carpet, prefer to store it in "rolled" mode in order to avoid deformations that would be unpleasant in postures. Also prefer a dry place.

PVC foam yoga mats are very durable, but their maintenance is also important.

YOGA RUG in TPE
Club Mats
TPE foam mats are also very light and warm to the touch, and to keep these properties, they should be washed occasionally with warm soapy water and a soft brush. In between large washings, you can also refresh them with a spray of essential oils. Let them dry well before rolling and storing them.

YOGA CARPET made of organic cotton
Cotton Carpet
This eco-designed mat folds easily to travel with you and, best of all, it's machine washable!

Regularly machine wash your carpet at 30° to preserve the environment. Leave to dry well after washing in the open air (not in a tumble dryer to avoid damaging the cotton).

Even if it is a foldable carpet, prefer a storage in "rolled" mode to avoid deformations which would be unpleasant in postures. Also prefer a dry place to avoid odours.

Keeping your yoga mat clean and tidy will help you keep it longer. Our mats are designed to last; you'll limit your impact on the environment by donating it to a charity if you decide to change it.

Namaste!
